The Staff Auditor role at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is a crucial position within the Audit Department, which reports to the Inspector General and the Board of Commissioners Audit Committee. This department's mission is to provide independent, systematic, and disciplined auditing services to evaluate and enhance internal controls, risk management, and overall operational effectiveness across the agency's vast transportation infrastructure. Staff Auditors participate in a 24-month rotational program, gaining hands-on experience in critical areas such as Activity-Based Revenue, Construction Cost Audits, Contract Administration, Information Systems, Internal Controls, Compliance, and Tolls/Fees/Fares. This rotational program is designed to prepare Staff Auditors for diverse future assignments within the Audit Department by providing comprehensive on-the-job training, external audit skills development, and monthly cohort meetings. The role requires an inquisitive, adaptable, and eager-to-learn individual who can contribute to the agency's mission of keeping the region moving by air, land, rail, and sea. Upon completion of the rotation, auditors are permanently placed in a division aligned with their skill set.
