The Corporate Counsel at Freeman Company reports to the VP, Associate General Counsel and provides strategic legal support across the organization. This role is pivotal in partnering with management, procurement, and sales teams to negotiate contracts and other legal documents, ensuring the company's interests are protected and aligned with business objectives. The position requires a proactive approach to advising and educating the enterprise on legal processes, particularly contract reviews, and managing multiple reviews efficiently. This role also involves acting as a liaison between company departments and outside counsel, attending meetings, and contributing to team efforts by leading business training. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week in-office or at show site, based in Chicago, IL.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements (customer contracts, vendor agreements, RFPs, LOIs, NDAs, software licenses, independent contractor agreements).
- Reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating all related legal documents.
- Advising and educating the enterprise on contract review processes and setting expectations.
